WHAT IS TELEHEALTH?

Telehealth is a way to provide medical and mental health services using video and audio technology to avoid exposure to the coronavirus (COVID-19).

COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT TELEHEALTH

HOW DOES ONLINE THERAPY WORK?

Before your appointment, your therapist will provide you with a link to join the virtual “room” at your session time. Once you are both in the room, select the option to share your video and audio. That’s it! There is no software to download or subscription, which simplifies the overall process.

IS ONLINE THERAPY SECURE?

We use the integrated telehealth system offered by our electronic records management program, Theranest. It’s completely confidential and HIPAA compliant. Additionally, no video or audio components of your session are recorded or stored.

DO I HAVE TO SUBSCRIBE TO A SERVICE?

No, there is no subscription, purchase, or software download required. Contact your therapist or our scheduling team to get started.

CAN A COUPLE JOIN TELEHEALTH FROM TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS?

While it is preferred to have couples therapy in person, telehealth sessions can be held for couples and we can accommodate the partners joining from separate locations.

WILL MY HEALTH INSURANCE COVER THERAPY THROUGH TELEHEALTH?

Most insurance plans will cover telehealth in the same way as traditional in-person therapy. We will verify your insurance prior to your appointment.
