About Me

Hi, I’m Kathryn. I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, specializing in working with couples who feel disconnected and individuals struggling with trauma and internal conflict about problematic behaviors.

I have a passion for working with couples who have tried everything to connect and yet still feel stuck in a place where they feel misunderstood, out of synch, and angry. I know what it’s like to realize that no matter how much I want to, sometimes just wanting to connect to my partner isn’t enough… I know we need to learn new skills and a different approach.

I also know what it’s like to gain those skills and the support of someone who cares to practice applying them so that I can get and keep the relationship that I have always wanted.

My goal is to help couples create a rejuvenated, joyful relationship- the safe harbor that they have always sought but not known that they could have with each other.
I also love working with individuals who don’t know how to move forward: part of them wants to make positive choices and life improvements while another part of them feels stuck in pursuing activities that make them feel ashamed, lost, or numb. I know what it’s like to struggle with being stuck with old coping routines that cause me problems while not knowing how to replace them.

My goal for my individual clients is to make sense of the turmoil inside, to heal from some of the wounds that have created their inner conflicts, and to find the courage to try something new, whether new for them is embarking on the adventure of their dreams or finally finding a sense of inner peace and balance.

What Makes Me Credible

While my practice for both couples and individuals is always grounded in research and the latest evidence-based theory and techniques, I endeavor to make each session feel organically tailored for your personality, strengths, and needs. I help couples learn new ways to listen and to respond to one another so that they finally feel heard and able to have their needs met. I also help people who feel torn by contradictory impulses learn how to reconcile with their conflicting needs, become unstuck, and move forward with their lives.
